Our Organization Over the Years

Remembering Robin Remsburg

Robin E. Remsburg
Robin E. Remsburg - August 1, 1956 to December 3, 2020

The Maryland Gerontological Nurses Group (MGNG) mourns the loss of
Robin Remsburg – beloved member, leader, mentor, and friend.

Robin held numerous academic positions throughout her career including an appointment at the Johns Hopkins University in the 1980s. It was during this time that our group came to know and love Robin for her intellect, generosity, and caring.

As president and fellow of the National Gerontological Nurses Association,
Robin encouraged nurses at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to do clinical research, to publish findings in professional journals, and to present at national conferences. Throughout her career, Robin remained an active presence in national initiatives to improve care of older adults.

Before her passing after a long illness, Robin was dean of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro School of Nursing from 2013 – 2020 where she, not surprisingly, had a major positive influence.
